This past Thursday Laura was asked to go grab a few quick shots of a gorgeous room set up that Events in Bloom had put together for a business dinner at the Remington Restaurant Restaurant at the St. Regis Hotel Houston.
Amy Spalding and Robert Urquhart were married on June 20, 2009 at St. Luke's UMC with a reception following at the Houston Country Club. We started our day off at the country club to capture the bride getting ready and take care of some of the formal portraits. Sometimes this works out great for us and the couple as the country clubs generally offer a lot more room and change of scenery than your typical church bridal room. We then headed over to St. Luke's where a bagpiper was on the lawn playing in honor of her Scottish heritage as the guests entered for the church. After the ceremony we all headed over to the club for a fabulous reception. I am not sure fabulous even really describes it. Rob with Events in Bloom impressed the crowd with the amazing florals, decor and lounge furniture. He and Amy's mother Adele, along with the help of Kristen McShane with Keely Thorne Events, really worked together to make this one event to remember for generations to come. For the second weekend in a row our event was entertained by Blind Date from Austin, Texas, who are all kinds of energetic and awesome. Cakes were provided by Marlene Romero and lighting by Bright Star Productions. The couple will reside in Houston after their Hawaiian honeymoon.

Recently David photographed Amy Spalding at her parent's home in Tanglewood for her bridal portraits. Amy was a pleasure to work with and her dress was amazing. The veil is actually her mother's and works so well with the dress. The bouquet was provided by Events in Bloom. We can now share these images as her wedding was this last weekend. Wedding day images should follow by the end of the week.
Kellye Janik and Lance Casey celebrated their wedding on June 13, 2009 at Memorial Drive UMC with a reception that followed at the Houstonian Grande Ballroom. Alia with Belle of the Ball finalized and coordinated the event wonderfully. Be sure to check out the detail in the deer themed groom's cake from Susie's Cakes. We had a wonderful time at this wedding. The band Blind Date, in from Austin, was very versatile and kept everyone dancing to anything from Sinatra to Journey to Thriller and beyond. In fact, Kellye also did a rousing dance to "Baby Got Back" that just confirmed what an awesome bride she is. We love our clients!

Jennifer Pfeil and Ryan Cupps married on June 6, 2009. The ceremony was held at St. Vincent de Paul which is where the groom's grandparents were also married by the same priest. The reception followed in the Grande Ballroom at The Houstonian. There were lots of great little details for this wedding. The bride had Pave crystals decorating the bottom of her shoes with the wedding date and hearts. Later in the evening Jennifer she slipped on some fantastic red boots for the garter and bouquet toss. Ryan also wore custom boots made for the wedding which displayed his family ranch brand. There was a massive candy bar, filled with all sorts of white candy, laid out on top of a huge mirror. And did we mention the cakes? The bride's cake itself was a beautifully elegant square, white, four tiered cake from Susie's Cakes. However the grooms cake was really special, it was a miniature of his family's ranch in Beaumont, complete with pond, cows and tractors. After the couple returns from their honeymoon in the Bahamas they will reside in Austin.
We have done work for Rhonda Kaiser in the past with The Cranberry Wreath and her designs at the Houstonian Hotel Club and Spa. She recently trained and became a certified member of the Interior Refiners Network, where she studied in New York City. As a result she has recently started Refine Your Room to expand her services to include interior design and refinement. These images were created to kick start the upcoming website for the company.
