Kristen + Paul engagement

This last week David met Kristen and Paul at the Wortham Promenade for their engagement session. The two have known each other since junior high but did not begin dating until their senior year in high school. Both attended Texas A&M University where Kristin is finishing up her degree in education by participating in Teach for America. Paul graduated early and is an analyst in Houston with Credit Suisse. We are covering their wedding this fall at St Pauls United Methodist Church and the Petroleum Club of Houston.

Rebecca + Scott engagement

Laura met Rebecca and Scott at the Wortham Promenade for their engagement portraits.  Rebecca is currently finishing up law school in Norman, OK and Scott is already living in Houston. She will move here after the wedding and sit the bar in November. We had quite an adventure walking around the Wortham area and Jones Plaza. Laura actually partially fell through a bridge at one point, but as there were no serious injuries, we just kept on taking photos (but not on that bridge :)) They are such a cute couple and we can't wait to cover their wedding in May!

Caitlin + Jamey engagement

David met Caitlin and Jamey at Hermann Park for their engagement portraits yesterday. A little chaos always makes for an interesting start. We braved the congestion and the lack of available parking spaces due to it being Spring Break for many not to mention it was St Patrick's Day as well. The couple is really sweet and met while attending Texas A&M University. They are getting married this July at St Paul's United Methodist Church with a reception to follow at the Crystal Ballroom.

Cicely + LonDee wedding

We covered Cicely and LonDee's wedding this past weekend. The ceremony was held at First Presbyterian Houston with the reception following at the Petroleum Club of Houston which has some of the best views of downtown as it is on the 43rd floor of the Exxon building. This was such a fun and lively wedding and was beautifully decorated with florals by Events in Bloom, linens and chair covers provided by The Linen House and an ice bar and specialty drink ice station from Ice Designs.

The couple met at Sky Bar, so they had one of the house bands play, which was quite significant to them. Melanie Covington's band was fantastic, and boy could the couple (and petty much all of their guests) dance! At one point the multi-talented bride got up on stage and played drums! 

The bride's wedding gown was designed by Vera Wang and she had gorgeous, pink Christian Louboutin shoes. The guests were treated to a steak and lobster dinner and in addition to wedding cake by Susie's Cakes, the guests were served a flaming dessert course. 

This was truly a first class wedding, with so many little details that made the whole thing come together perfectly.  Cecily and LonDee will reside in Houston after they return from their honeymoon in Aruba.

Part 2 of the fabulous wedding Laura photographed in the Dominican Republic this last weekend.

Our very own Laura Burlton had the pleasure of traveling to the Dominican Republic this past weekend to cover the destination wedding of Laura and Alex. The beach front ceremony was held at the luxurious Paradisus Palma Real Resort in Punta Cana. She stayed for three days providing complete coverage and got in a little fun time too, mind you, her idea of fun is taking photos...  Laura & Alex stayed after to enjoy some R & R time and their honeymoon at the resort and should be returning at the end of the week.

Laura + Alex day after session

As we were in a gorgeous location already, we decided to do a casual day after session with Laura & Alex.  Beautiful couple + awesome beaches = fabulous photos. Enough said. Enjoy!

Dominican Republic resort

I (Laura) took so many photos at Laura and Alex's wedding this past weekend, we are going to split the blog entries up, because there is just so much to show to tell the whole story. For this first entry we wanted to show the lovely Paradisus Palma Real Resort.  First off, I will say that the resort was HUGE and beautiful. My room was about 4-5 blocks from the lobby, as was the beach although it had an unobstructed view. The resort is located on Bavaro Beach and the turquoise blue water was crystal clear and the sand was powder white with flecks of pink, I assume from coral in the nearby reefs. The service was fantastic and the resort itself was all-inclusive, so we did not have to worry about a thing. It was fabuloso, now I can't wait to show off the wedding day photos, but those may have to be in two parts as well!

Katie + Stephen wedding

David covered the wedding of Katie and Stephen this past weekend. The ceremony was held at the amazingly beautiful St Pauls United Methodist Church followed by a reception at the Cohen House at Rice University. Even though the couple had gone to the same high school, they did not begin dating until law school while attending The University of Texas. The couple are so genuinely wonderful and certainly a pleasure to work with. Floral arrangements were provided by Floral Events and Katie chose to honor her late mother by featuring her favorite flower, irises, in the bouquets. Place cards for the reception were very unique and featured a mini passport that was stamped inside with a city that had a significant role in the couples lives. Each table was assigned one of these cities. DJ's Unlimited supplied the necessary music while the event was coordinated and emceed by Dewayne Ross. Linens provided by Linen House and the cake by More Than Cakes. Following a honeymoon in St Lucia, and graduation from law school this May, the couple plan to reside in Houston.

Lately we have been getting more requests for rehearsal dinner coverage so we thought we might share a few images from our most recent one. David covered the dinner for Katie and Stephen in the wine room at Mockingbird Bistro on Friday night directly after their wedding rehearsal at St Paul's UMC.
