January 2010 Weddings in Houston Bridal Soiree

This past Sunday we participated in the Weddings in Houston, Before You Say "I Do!" Bridal Soiree. We usually set up a table with prints and albums, but since this is the only show we usually do, we wanted to set up something a little special. We enlisted the help of Rob and Jesus from Events in Bloom. We figured that since they design some of the most awesome weddings and events in town, they would do a way better job of putting together a booth for us than we would! We met so many awesome potential customers at the show, I cant wait to talk to them more in the near future about their weddings.

Also featured on this post are some of EIB's display as well as cakes by Bobbie's Cake Creations and a tablescape by Dream Bouquet that features white tulips, gladiolas and royal blue linens.

Events in Bloom - River Oaks Country Club

Last weekend Rob Smith asked David to work his magic and document his latest wedding reception decor at River Oaks Country Club. While David actually had a weekend off he certainly did not mind getting to play and capture yet another fantastic Events In Bloom creation. It never ceases to amaze us as to what they come up with next. The custom candle screens, glass pedestals and their fashionable lounge furniture always add a fun touch. Also included is a beautiful bride's cake by Cake Creations that Rob decorated with hydrangeas and orchids.

Last week we had the opportunity to photograph this seasons cake samples for Bobbie's Cake Creations. If you have never tried their cakes, you really are missing out, she has some of the tastiest in the business. Plus I bet you can't even imagine how wonderful the studio smells right now! Dessert anyone?

 

Houston Brides Fall/Winter 2009 featured wedding

Kelley + John wedding

Kelley and John were married on October 11, 2008 at the Hotel ZaZa in a wonderfully unique ceremony.  Music for the ceremony was provided by Divisi Strings. The groom walked in to a string arrangement of the Rollings Stones "Paint it Black" while the bride was led in by both mothers to "Hey Ya" by Outkast. The recessional was to "Break on Through" by the Doors. Reverend Gail Williford of St. Paul's UMC officiated the ceremony. The decorative furniture and florals were provided by Events in Bloom, linens by Distinctive Details and the individual cakes for each guest by Bobbie's Cake Creations.

The guests were then treated to a six course meal with individual wine pairings and an introduction by a sommelier from Tasting Room.  Kelley and John had set up video games and pinball machines provided by Joystix as well as Rockband on a Wii for the guests to enjoy, and enjoy it they did! This was a really fun wedding that we are not likely to forget anytime soon. The whole thing could not have been orchestrated to this level without the help of wedding planner, Cole Mark of Buzz Events, who did an outstanding job! 

Cynthia + Jay wedding

Cynthia and Jay had a lovely wedding at Brenner's on the Bayou on May 25, 2008 and Laura was there to capture it. They started with an airy ceremony on the outside deck facing the bayou and then moved up into the loft room for dinner and reception. It was an intimate affair celebrated with close friends and family. The couple will reside in New Orleans after the wedding.

Lizzie + Marc wedding

Lizzie and Marc's April 12, 2008 wedding was fabulous! We started at the Hotel ZaZa to capture everyone getting ready, then headed over to Faith Lutheran Church to capture the ceremony. It was then back to the Hotel ZaZa for the reception. Everything was perfect and Angela Nix did such a fantastic job coordinating the whole shebang. We had such a great time working this event. We could not have asked for a more fun and gracious couple and wedding party. Lizzie and Marc will reside in Austin after they return from their honeymoon.

Karen + Billy wedding

Karen and Billy tied the knot on December 29, 2007. The ceremony was held at the beautiful Christ Church Cathedral downtown with a reception following at Artista Restaurant. The service even had the full Christ Church choir perform during the ceremony. There was more music provided at the reception by Fried Ice Cream, who are always a lot of fun. And the wonderful and extremely yummy dinner was topped off with a cake made by Bobbie's Cake Creations. All in all this was one heck of a party! Photos by D. Jones Photography.

Stephanie + Ryan wedding

October 6, 2007 was Stephanie and Ryan's wedding day. The ceremony was set at the beautiful Duchesne Chapel, where the bride had attended school, and the reception was at the Petroleum Club Downtown. Ryan and Stephanie met in Las Vegas while attending UNLV. Guests flew in from far and wide to celebrate their special day with them. Ryan's family traveled from West Virginia, Arkansas and North Carolina while Stephanie had family in from as far as the UK and Italy! Photos by D. Jones Photography.

Cake Creations

Bobbie Taylor, owner of Cake Creations, makes some of the most wonderful cakes to tickle the tastebuds you will ever come across. We always look forward to working a wedding or event that she is baking for. We took some commercial shots of some of her cakes for her print ads and website. The studio smelled so good for days after. Can you say YUMMY?
