Kat + Johnny wedding

Kat and Johnny were so much fun to work with. We started off at Inn at the Ballpark then off to St Theresa Catholic Church for the ceremony and finally back to Vic & Anthony's for the reception. Be sure to check out the groom's customized Converse with the bride's name on the back. Johnny's daughters participated as bridesmaids and Kat's sister had worked tirelessly on all of the reception flower arrangements while Nikova Floral provided the bouquets and boutonnieres. Each guest table was labeled with one of the couple's many favorite cities in Texas. The event was wonderfully coordinated by Danyett Baxter with Two Be Wed. The bride's cake was created by The Cake Lady Bakery and the groom's cake balls by Angie's Cake.

Michelle + Chad wedding

We recently covered the wedding of Michelle and Chad at St Anne's Catholic Church and the Courtyard on St James. They were referred to us by a past client of ours and were a blast to work with. The events were coordinated by Jo Ann of Schwartz and Woodward. Entertainment for the evening was provided by the energetic team of Fried Ice Cream Band.  The wedding cake was courtesy of Susie's Cakes and Confections and florals were from Wedding Flowers by Lisa. After a honeymoon in Kauai the couple will continue to reside here in Houston.

Bevin + Dan wedding

Oh, what can we say about Bevin and Dan's wedding that would truly describe it? This was really a completely fabulous celebration of love between one of the neatest couples we have had the pleasure to work with. We were approached by Bevin about a year ago about her wedding, and I was so happy she ended up choosing us!

So about this wedding!

We started our day of at the Hotel ZaZa in the museum district. Bevin was getting ready with her girls in one of the suites while Dan was upstairs in the Black Label suite (which was going to be their suite later that night). This is one of the "Magnificent Seven" Suites on the 12th floor and one of the ones that has an out door tub! We took lots of photos at ZaZa before heading over to the Chapel of St. Basil for the ceremony.

The ceremony itself was a very touching Catholic ceremony. The personalized service was enhanced by Dan's sister in law playing guitar while his niece sang a song for them.

After the ceremony was over, Bevin and Dan exited the church where we got lots of photos on the lawn in front of the church while the guests had cocktails in the labyrinth to the sounds of a full mariachi band. The couple were soon introduced as husband and wife and then guests walked to the Menil Collection by lantern light where they were served cocktails and h'or dourves. 

After about an hour we all headed over to the Richmond Hall where the Dan Flavin exhibit is housed for the main reception. Music was provided by the Richard Brown Orchestra, which is something like a 15-20 piece band in the big band tradition. The couple went into their first dance and I have to say they really were amazing dancers! After toasts everyone tucked into the food which was prepared by A Fare Extraordinaire. They had Churrasco steaks with chimichurri sauce, pecan fried chicken, avocados stuff with lump crab meat or edamame, macaroni and cheese with truffles, ceviche with fried plantains and jalapeno cheese grits. Very yummy! 

After more dancing we went into the white room for the cake cutting. The cake itself was made by Susie's Cakes and was also all white and shaped to mimic the Dan Flavin light pieces on the walls.

After the reception the couple left to party the night away at the ZaZa with their friends and family and then they went on to a two week road trip through the Florida Keys. Where this will lead them, who knows, but i am sure they will have a blast together!

Bevin's bridal session

Suzie + Brent wedding

Suzie and Brent were married this past weekend at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with a traditional Catholic ceremony. They flew the family priest in from the UK to officiate. After the ceremony they had an elegant reception at the St. Regis Hotel. The reception featured a multi course seated dinner with entertainment provided by Rotel and the Hot Tomatoes of Austin. This band is always such a delight to work with as they really get the crowd up and moving. As a testament to what kind of wonderful people Suzie and Brent are, they had family and friends come from Kansas, England and even Australia to celebrate their wedding day with them. Cake provided by Who Made the Cake! whiles floral arrangements were created by LIsa Tran of Wedding Flowers by LIsa. Event coordination by DGLS Events... at your service!. The couple will reside in Houston when they return from their honeymoon.

Jennifer + Ryan wedding

Jennifer and Ryan married on June 6, 2009. The ceremony was held at St. Vincent de Paul which is where the groom's grandparents were also married by the same priest. The reception followed in the Grande Ballroom at The Houstonian. There were lots of great little details for this wedding. The bride had Pave crystals decorating the bottom of her shoes with the wedding date and hearts. Later in the evening Jennifer she slipped on some fantastic red boots for the garter and bouquet toss. Ryan also wore custom boots made for the wedding which displayed his family ranch brand. There was a massive candy bar, filled with all sorts of white candy, laid out on top of a huge mirror. And did we mention the cakes? The bride's cake itself was a beautifully elegant square,  white, four tiered cake from Susie's Cakes. However the grooms cake was really special, it was a miniature of his family's ranch in Beaumont, complete with pond, cows and tractors. After the couple returns from their honeymoon in the Bahamas they will reside in Austin.

Priscila + Jerry wedding

Priscila & Jerry were married this past Saturday in a traditional Catholic ceremony at the Holy Rosary Church in Midtown with a reception following at the Manor House at the Houstonian. Priscila is originally from Rio de Janeiro and moved to the states to attend college. Jerry is from El Paso and is a cardiologist at Methodist Hospital. The happy couple will reside in Houston. Florals and decorations provided by Wedding Flowers by Lisa.

Dana and Adam celebrated their wedding on September 6, 2008. The couple had a late morning ceremony at St. Anne's Catholic Church with a reception following at the Junior League of Houston.

Alix + Don wedding

Alix and Don celebrated their marriage on June 28, 2008 with a ceremony at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and a reception following at the Woodlands Resort and Conference Center. The couple met at a friends birthday party while both were attending Texas A&M University. This was a beautiful event and you could tell that they were so happy to be married and to have this celebration with all of their friends and family present. Don and Alix will reside in Michigan where he is a long snapper for the Detroit Lions. Congratulations you guys!

Gillian + Patrick wedding

Gillian and Patrick were married on June 21, 2008 at St. Anne's Catholic Church with a reception following at The Gallery. Gillian and Patrick started dating five years ago and it is a funny story how that came to be. Their wedding day coincided with the fifth anniversary of the release of the fifth Harry Potter book, "The Order of the Phoenix." Both Gillian and Patrick had gone to the midnight release party and were in the process of reading the book straight through, as one does. Well, their parents both made them get out of the house and go to a party, without the book, to get some fresh air. Luckily, the host of the party had one copy and even though they were each on a different chapter, they huddled in a corner and shared the book and thus became a couple. I just thought that was really a great "meet-cute". This was such a fun reception as the couple and quite a few of their guests are or have been a part of the Rice University's Marching Owl Band or MOB, so there were quite a few unique dance numbers. They really knew how to party :) They also had the BIGGEST sparklers I have EVER seen to be used at the departure.
