Ruth and Gregg got married this past October and wanted to get some unique shots in their wedding garb but without all of the stress and time constraints that one has during a regular wedding day. Therefore we chose to do a "day after session", albeit a month or so later. We were originally going to use the Strand as our shooting location but due to Dickens on the Strand being the same weekend, we opted for downtown Houston instead.

Ruth Plascencia and Gregg Catani are getting married at the end of October at the Alden Hotel downtown. They did not want the usual park setting for their engagement photos and opted instead for a more gritty, urban look. They chose the warehouse district northeast of downtown as their locale. Laura had fun with all of the different and diverse backdrops available there. She can't wait to shoot their wedding in October!

Katie was so sweet and she was kind enough to provide us with the story for this entry. We recently covered her sister, Melissa's wedding on May 31, 2008 where we were introduced to Katie. Enjoy!
"What fun this was! After almost three years of marriage, I got to slip back into my wedding dress, get all dolled up, and finally take a bridal portrait. It was mom's idea after the last of her three girls got married in May. Waiting three years to have a bridal portrait shot is unusual, but I must say that it was quite refreshing, energizing, and awfully romantic to re-live a part of such an amazing time in my life. I highly recommend it!"

We recently did a boudoir session with Amy who is getting married soon and looking for a unique wedding gift to give her sweetie. These sessions are such fun to do and I think they are great for making a girl feel sexy!

We recently did a boudoir session with Trish. Trish has been married for a while now and did this for an anniversary gift for her husband. Can you believe this woman has had kids? She just looked fabulous and was such fun to work with.

Nicole is getting married on July 26th and was looking for some intimate portraits to give her new hubby on their wedding night. She was so easy to work with. I think she was channeling Nicole Kidman during this shoot, what do you think?

Laura wanted to have some fun so she asked a friend Carol to refer a unique couple in order to create an edgy newlywed session. So this is how we met Ashley and Ryan, who were married a few months ago. Ashley is a hairdresser at Cutloose Salon and Ryan is a tattoo artist at Amazing Tattoo as well as the lead singer/organist for Ryan and the Trenchtown Texans. If you are not busy this Saturday night you should go see the band at The Continental Club.
Hope you enjoy this fantastic photographic collaboration between David and Laura.

Laura traveled to Galveston for an engagement session with Leti and Ben at the Galveston Railroad Museum. It is just one of the coolest places to shoot around this area. The couple also requested some images on the beach and downtown Galveston, so we had a lot of fun.
They were such a fun couple to work and are getting married in November. Although we were already booked for their wedding date the couple insisted on Laura to cover their engagement session. They are using Edward Charles Photogrgaphy for their actual wedding day photos and he is wonderful, so we know they are in good hands. Congratulations you two!

Last Sunday, while we were at the Weddings in Houston Bridal Soiree, we were asked by another vendor (and recent bride) to go to Mardi Gras to Trash her Dress. Although David could not make it, Laura was definitely up for it. Laura met Summer there and they traipsed through the French Quarter, among all of the revelers, with camera in hand. We were also able to get Summer's new husband, Will to join in on the fun (and wear a suit to boot!) We had such a great time, met lots of interesting people and we hope got some great photos as well!
