As previously mentioned we were fortunate to have not received any damage to the studio during the rampage that was Ike. We also quickly realized that having power restored after only four and a half days was a luxury. Many of our friends, clients and colleagues are now on day 14 without power and are still staying with friends and relatives who do have restored utilities. Our heart goes out to those that have gone through so much and are still displaced. If there is anything we can do please do not hesitate to contact us, even if it is to share you story.
We have also checked in with all of our scheduled 2008 wedding ceremony and reception locations and are happy to report that all are up and running with little to no damage.
On a side note to those that are curious about our back up system here at the studio. We do have a complete set of back up files that are kept at a remote location. In addition David had in possession with him all cameras, a laptop and all external drives containing client files so that in the event we had to relocate the studio operations we could do so with very little interruption. With such natural disasters nothing is ever certain and having backups is essential. Having experienced in 1993 his parents office fire first hand he became aware how important back up files are in restoring a business. We do not take anything for granted and try our best to be prepared for almost any situation that may arrive.
