This past Thursday Laura was asked to document the Houston Center for Photography fine print auction. Over 80 pieces of fine art photography were donated to the center and auctioned off by the very entertaining Rick Wester of Rick Wester Fine Art in New York. The auction is HCP's biggest fund raiser of the year and 100% of the proceeds go to support exhibitions, outreach programs, educational initiatives and the publication of their award-winning SPOT magazine. I am pleased to say this year they met their goal and raised over $80,000!
Artists that donated prints this include Rocky Schenk, Keith Carter, Michael Mazzeo, Will Michels, Amy Blakemore, Susan Burnstine, Fred Baldwin and Wendy Watriss and many other established and mid-career artists.
The auction was held for a third year in a row at the Junior League of Houston and floral decoration was provided by Bergner and Johnson.

Last week David had the pleasure of covering Neighborhood Centers Heart of Gold Celebration. at the Hilton Americas Houston. Though juggling several events that day, one being in the very next ballroom, Mayor Annise Parker had just enough time to honor the award recipient with a city proclamation for Trini Mendnehall Sosa Day.
The event was emceed by KPRC's Kim Davis with additional presentations by John Hernandez with Amegy Bank as well as Joni Baird with Chevron's Public Affairs. This year the Alice Graham Baker Crusader Award was presented to Trini Mendenhall Sosa. This event's attendees always include a great collection of local and state politicians as well as several individuals and corporations that assist NCI in continuing as Houston's largest human resources services organization. The award was presented by George DeMontrond, III and was followed by a closing by President and CEO of NCI, Angela Blanchard.

We were recently asked by Buffy Scott of Imagine That! to document her set up for a holiday party she designed at the Westin Oaks Galleria. The party had a James Bond theme going on, think "Casino Royale," and she did a fantastic job on setting the scene. She had all of these fabulous cut outs that she had made of spy silhouettes, that really looked great. She also painted a really cool backdrop for the guests to have a photo opportunity as they walked into the casino party. I left well before the guests started to arrive, but I can only imagine what a great party this turned out to be!

We were recently contacted by Imagine That! to document the details as well as rooms shots for one of their charity events held at the Westin Galleria. As we just love to see what event planners and decorators are up to David jumped at the chance to document the company's rendition of the Vincent van Gogh's Starry Night inspired environment created for this holiday event. Buffy's company handled creating and coordinating everything from the draping, lighting, floral arrangements, backdrops and more. Happy Holidays!
