Carrie and Theo were married this past Saturday at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with a reception following at the Petroleum Club of Houston. The ceremony was a traditional Greek mass and the church itself was gorgeous and bright. Unlike many facilities, we had pretty much free reign to take photos wherever we liked so we got plenty of good stuff. Laura even broke out her homemade lens and David got to play with his wonderful 14mm :) After the ceremony, the happy couple and their friends and family got to dance the night away over at PCOH. There was even a little bit of traditional greek dancing and ouzo drinking going on. Event coordination by Natalie with Belle of the Ball while florals and reception decorations were provided by Events in Bloom. The wedding cake was created by Cakes by Gina. The couple is currently honeymooning in Cabo and will continue to live in Houston where Theo is a firefighter and Carrie is a nurse.

Immediately after finishing Kat & Johnny's wedding, David headed on over to Houston Country Club to honor a prior request by Rob with Events in Bloom to capture the ballroom before the guests were let in. This had to be a record time for getting the room shots and details. It certainly looked like a lovely wedding and David was glad to actually be home before midnight on a Saturday, in fact he was back at the studio and unloaded by 9:15pm.

Last weekend Rob Smith asked David to work his magic and document his latest wedding reception decor at River Oaks Country Club. While David actually had a weekend off he certainly did not mind getting to play and capture yet another fantastic Events In Bloom creation. It never ceases to amaze us as to what they come up with next. The custom candle screens, glass pedestals and their fashionable lounge furniture always add a fun touch. Also included is a beautiful bride's cake by Cake Creations that Rob decorated with hydrangeas and orchids.

This past weekend was the Bridal Extravaganza at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston. Two full days of all you can look at to do with weddings and anything and everything else you never thought you would need but now must have! Laura had never been before, so it was quite the show. In any case, she was asked to take some photos for Events in Bloom of their booth and as per usual they did it up in grand style!

This past Saturday, before we headed over to the Watters wedding, Laura stopped by the
Hotel ZaZa and took some photos for Rob at
Events in Bloom. The couple really had Rob go all out for this one with a beautiful bright red, pink and purple decor. A little birdie told me that groom plays professional basketball for the
Golden State Warriors.

This past Thursday Laura was asked to go grab a few quick shots of a gorgeous room set up that Events in Bloom had put together for a business dinner at the Remington Restaurant Restaurant at the St. Regis Hotel Houston.
The lavish dinner for 20 guests had the full treatment with lots of white roses, calla lillies and orchids. Rob also set up four crystal centerpieces atop a huge mirrored table. There were two lounge areas with custom embroidered pillows with the companies logo and he even had napkins custom embroidered for the client,
Grupo Vidanta.

Amy Spalding and Robert Urquhart were married on June 20, 2009 at St. Luke's UMC with a reception following at the Houston Country Club. We started our day off at the country club to capture the bride getting ready and take care of some of the formal portraits. Sometimes this works out great for us and the couple as the country clubs generally offer a lot more room and change of scenery than your typical church bridal room. We then headed over to St. Luke's where a bagpiper was on the lawn playing in honor of her Scottish heritage as the guests entered for the church. After the ceremony we all headed over to the club for a fabulous reception. I am not sure fabulous even really describes it. Rob with Events in Bloom impressed the crowd with the amazing florals, decor and lounge furniture. He and Amy's mother Adele, along with the help of Kristen McShane with Keely Thorne Events, really worked together to make this one event to remember for generations to come. For the second weekend in a row our event was entertained by Blind Date from Austin, Texas, who are all kinds of energetic and awesome. Cakes were provided by Marlene Romero and lighting by Bright Star Productions. The couple will reside in Houston after their Hawaiian honeymoon.

Recently David photographed Amy Spalding at her parent's home in Tanglewood for her bridal portraits. Amy was a pleasure to work with and her dress was amazing. The veil is actually her mother's and works so well with the dress. The bouquet was provided by Events in Bloom. We can now share these images as her wedding was this last weekend. Wedding day images should follow by the end of the week.
