2009 EWI Houston Chapter Scholarship Awards

Last week David covered the Houston Chapter of Executive Women International's annual scholarship awards dinner which was held at The Corinthian. Jackson Hicks, owner of Jackson and Company, recently established the Anne Sharpe Memorial Scholarship through the local chapter in memory of her dedication and support.  This award was presented along with the Cherry York EWI Scholarship Program. A total of three different scholarships were awarded that evening as part of EWI Houston Chapter's continuing support of helping high school juniors achieve their academic goals. Florals arrangements provided by Bergner & Johnson. 

EWI @ Torch Energy

This month's meeting of The Houston Chapter of Executive Women International was held at the offices of Torch Energy Advisors, Inc. Attendees were treated to catering by Massa's Restaurant as well as an introduction by President and COO, Jay Lendrum, and private tour of the incredible Torch Collection - Visions of the West. CEO and founder of Torch, JP Bryan's collection is simply amazing and comprises over 10,000 pieces, making it the world's largest private collection of Texana art and memorabilia. This is a definite must see for anyone interested in Texas history and culture.

EWI President's Award

Last night at the Downtown Aquarium of Houston David was very surprised to receive the Executive Women International Houston Chapter President's Award. This award is only presented to a representative that has exhibited special talents and outstanding services to the chapter and was last awarded in 2003. He was presented with this lovely engraved vase from Tiffany's.

The Houston Chapter celebrated its 50th anniversary this year and David has been a member since 2000. He is in fact the only male member in the history of the chapter. Congratulations David! Photos by D. Jones Photography.

EWI National Convention

Executive Women International just hosted their three day national convention in Houston. The Houston Chapter of EWI is also celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
