A few weeks ago Laura went down to Galveston to take some senior portrait of miss Clara, who is the younger sister of one of our former brides, Natasha. Clara moved to Montana with her mom quite a few years back and figured that she would like some photos in some of her favorite childhood haunts rather than pose for the typical "girl with moose" shot her friends in Montana would be getting. We started out on the tall ship Elissa, where Natasha's husband Drew is now sail captain and then we headed over to the beach and took some photos on the sand and underneath what's left of the Flagship Hotel. We had a really good time and I think we got some pretty cool photos too!

We were contacted by a past friend from the hospitality industry who was in need of an updated business portrait as well as casual portraits for her social networking sites. David had a blast working with Diane to create exactly what she was looking for. Most of the images were created in the East Montrose neighborhood as well as a few in the studio.

Vandi is a jewelry designer Laura met because their daughters are in the same kindergarden class. She is currently putting together a website of her designs and wanted a more editorial type of portrait to use on the website, something fun and a little different than your standard headshot.
She and Laura decided to use this gorgeous chair Vandi had as a prop for the shoot so they loaded into her suburban and took it around town. First stop was Mandell Park. There are these lovely community gardens at the park and they thought it would be an excellent setting. Next they headed over to the sculpture garden at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston because the backdrop looks so industrial. They wanted a few contrasting looks. I think the result came out pretty wonderful!

We were pleased to have recently been asked by one of our former brides to capture her maternity portraits. We covered Martha and Paul's wedding back in April of 2006. They are now expecting a little girl due soon.

Recently we were asked to photograph David Syme and his wife Suzanne. They are returning clients as we covered their wedding reception a couple of years ago. David is a Steinway Artist and requested some new promotional images. Suzanne was also in need of an updated headshot for the next edition of her book. The couple also wanted a few portraits of the two of them to display and as gifts for family.

This past Friday we did a session with the Jermaine's family. We created photos of the kids, Jade and Jackson, and dad Jermaine. Mom, Erica, who is expecting a new addition in a few months, sat this one out. These kids were great little models to work with! Photos by D. Jones Photography.

The holidays are the perfect time to have your family portrait session. Everyone is in a good mood (hopefully!) and more importantly, they are generally able to get together at the same time. We were able to gather the whole clan together on very special afternoon and capture the whole family in both traditional and candid styles. Photos by D. Jones Photography.
