This past Saturday we got to play with Susan and Eric. We started off at St. Pauls United Methodist Church for the ceremony where everyone was getting ready. I knew it was going to be a good day when I saw Susan's sparkly, dark red Christian Louboutin shoes (Laura loves some shoes!) and her beautiful blush colored dress (it had pockets! How neat is that?) She also had lots of little details that we love to document. She customized her bridal party's flowers with items that meant something to them (A golden peanut on the boutonniere for her man of honor and a dragonfly for her bridesmaid). Eric also had a frog broach on his boutonniere which I think is a really neat idea and personalized the wedding just that much more. After the ceremony we had a little time to kill, so we walked around downtown and were able to get capture some artistic shots of the couple together. At six it was time for the reception to start so the couple was welcomed into the ballroom at The Hotel Icon and the party started from there. Susan and Eric opted to have a really nice dinner party for their guests so that they could socialize in a more intimate environment. Soon after dinner the couple cut the cake to the sounds of a large mariachi band and soon after they took off in their getaway car, a 1932 Pierce Arrow.
It really was a beautiful wedding. The whole thing was orchestrated by Alia Rdissi of Belle of the Ball, who always does such a wonderful job!
The couple will be honeymooning in Spain and will reside in Houston after their return.

Kristen and Paul were married this past Saturday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with a reception following at the Petroleum Club of Houston. St. Paul's is very special to their family as both of their parents were married there, and coincidentally, it was during the same summer. Their story started when they met at Lanier Middle School, then they both went on to Bellaire High School (where they started dating) then on to Texas A&M University. Florals were provided by Wedding Flowers by LIsa and linens courtesy of The Linen House. Don't miss the detail of the groom's truck cake by Cakes by Gina. The happy couple will reside in Houston after they return from the Maui honeymoon.

We photographed the wedding of Kimberly and Andy this last weekend. The ceremony was held at St. Pauls United Methodist Church followed by a reception at the Junior League of Houston. The St. Paul's Choir performed for the service, which the groom also participates in. This was the third or fourth time recently that we have got to do a wedding at St. Paul's with the choir, which really adds so much to the weddings. The couple will continue to reside in Houston after they return from their honeymoon.

Caitlin and Jamey were married July 25, 2009 at St Paul's United Methodist Church with a reception following at the Crystal Ballroom. They were such a fun group to work with! Downstairs while the girls were getting ready and dancing to music from an ipod, the boys were upstairs shooting hoops in the church gym. We knew this was a good sign for the reception, because when guests get to dancing, we all have a lot of fun. The ceremony was beautiful of course and had the St. Pauls choir in attendance, which really makes for a grand wedding. All and all, we had a really great time because Caitlin and Jamey were just such a sweet couple, oh and they could dance too! The couple will reside in Houston after they get back from their honeymoon. Congratulations you guys, the wedding was beautiful and you look great together!

We had such a great time doing Lauren's bridals this past Thursday. She chose to have her portraits made at St. Paul's UMC, which is one of our favorite locations to work. It has this sort of old world feel to it and the light in the parlour can't be beat. Lauren had two looks that she wanted to incorporate, first with a cathedral length veil and then she also had a birdcage veil (which is the veil she will change into for the reception at the Hotel ZaZa). We can't wait for the wedding which is being planned by Bobbi Asarch, one of the best planners in the state! Flowers provided by Plants N' Petals

David covered the wedding of Katie and Stephen this past weekend. The ceremony was held at the amazingly beautiful St Pauls United Methodist Church followed by a reception at the Cohen House at Rice University. Even though the couple had gone to the same high school, they did not begin dating until law school while attending The University of Texas. The couple are so genuinely wonderful and certainly a pleasure to work with. Floral arrangements were provided by Floral Events and Katie chose to honor her late mother by featuring her favorite flower, irises, in the bouquets. Place cards for the reception were very unique and featured a mini passport that was stamped inside with a city that had a significant role in the couples lives. Each table was assigned one of these cities. DJ's Unlimited supplied the necessary music while the event was coordinated and emceed by Dewayne Ross. Linens provided by Linen House and the cake by More Than Cakes. Following a honeymoon in St Lucia, and graduation from law school this May, the couple plan to reside in Houston.

This weekend we covered Jennifer and Chris's wedding. The couple had an evening wedding at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with a wonderful reception following at the Petroleum Club of Houston. The view from this club is always amazing as it is one of the few downtown buildings that is not completely surrounded. Chris was enthralled by the size and detail of his groom's cake created by Who Made the Cake! It was a replica of the Piper Cub that he received his pilots license in, not to mention his first emergency landing. As you can tell it certainly was a festive group. The couple flew out to Hawaii the next day for their honeymoon.

Kristen and Mike were married in a whirlwind ceremony at St. Paul's United Methodist Church this past Thursday as the entire region was preparing to evacuate from the mess that was Hurricane Ike. Their wedding was originally planned for the following Saturday, but due to extenuating circumstances the ceremony had to be moved. Although this may not have been the original party they had planned, it was a very moving and touching ceremony that really celebrated the love that they share for each other no matter what is thrown their way. The couple are co-pilots in life and at work and fly together for Continental Airlines. They will reside in Houston after returning from their honeymoon in Hawaii.
